Day 1 Prayer & Fasting Theme:

FASTING & PRAYER INSTRUCTIONS

Fasting is not about punishing the body. Instead, it is about yielding your body so that you can be sensitive and able to hear God clearly.

What do we do when we are praying and fasting?

When you're fasting and praying, you intentionally remove yourself from anything that feeds your flesh:

  • TV

  • Social media

  • Ungodly influences

  • Excessive food

  • Distracting conversations or individuals

You are cutting off distractions so that your spirit can be in tune with the voice of God.

What are we fasting and praying for?

We are fasting and praying for a greater yieldedness to the Spirit of God. We’re not just praying and fasting for routine or breakthrough—we are praying specifically to become more dependent on the Holy Spirit.

What do you need during prayer and fasting?

  1. A notebook and a pen.

    • Write down everything the Holy Spirit whispers to you.

    • Every inspiration, every scripture, every instruction—write it down.

  2. Set special prayer times throughout the day.

    • If you're at work, it's not about praying for hours.

    • We are praying from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM—a full-day fast.

    • Use strategic times like:

      • 12:00 PM

      • 3:00 PM

      • 6:00 PM

These are powerful moments to pause and pray.

  3. Divide your prayer into watches.

    • Focus on a different aspect each time: surrender, intercession, worship, etc.

Even if it's just 10 minutes at a time, enter into that place of focus and intention with your notebook ready.

The goal is not punishment. The goal is yieldedness.

You are setting yourself apart so that you can hear God clearly.

God bless you as you fast and pray today!

Opening Scripture Meditation:

Luke 4:1“And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.”
Deuteronomy 8:2“And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart...”

Prayer Point 1: Strength to Follow Where He Leads

Scripture:

Isaiah 40:29–31“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength…”
Romans 8:14“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”

Prayer:

“Father, give me strength for the journey. Cause me not to be blinded by what appears to be a wilderness. Let me see the purpose behind the pressure and the destiny beyond the difficulties. Let me trust Your leading even when it’s unfamiliar. Strengthen my inner man to walk by faith and not by sight.”

Prayer Point 2: A Yielded Spirit That Doesn’t Vex the Holy Spirit

Scripture:

Ephesians 4:30“And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”
Isaiah 63:10“But they rebelled and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.”

Prayer:

“Father, may I never vex Your Spirit. Break every hardened belief system in me that resists Your leading. Uproot compromise, distractions, and corrupted influences. Grant me a soft heart, a yielded posture, and a sensitive spirit that always discerns and flows with the movements of the Holy Spirit.”

Prayer Point 3: Activation of the Anointing

Scripture:

2 Timothy 1:6“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you…”
1 John 2:20“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.”

Prayer:

“Father, activate every spiritual deposit You’ve placed within me. Let dormant gifts come alive. Awaken the anointing within me for such a time as this. Let divine purpose find expression in this season. I refuse to carry potential without performance. I stir up the oil!”

Prayer Point 4: Fill Me and Push Me Into Purpose

Scripture:

Acts 4:31“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken… and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”
John 3:8“The wind blows where it wishes… so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Prayer:

“Father, fill me afresh with Your Spirit. Let Your wind push me forward. Where I’ve been stagnant, blow! Where I’ve been stuck, lift me. Push me into purpose. Move me into prophetic motion. Let the force of Your Spirit propel me into everything You have ordained.”
