The Kingdom Principle of Giving: Unlocking Your Blessings
Many believers struggle financially and spiritually because they have broken a simple yet powerful principle: giving. You often hear people say, “Man of God, I don’t have, that’s why I don’t give.” But the truth is: you don’t have because you haven’t given.
The Bible teaches that a man’s gift makes room for him (Proverbs 18:16, NKJV). Seed must be planted before the harvest. If you fail to plant, when the harvest season comes, you have nothing.
The children of Israel encountered this principle when they entered the Promised Land. The first city they came to was Jericho, and God commanded that everything in it be destroyed (Joshua 6:17). Why? Because it was the firstfruits of the land, dedicated to the Lord. This teaches us that giving to God is not just about obedience—it’s about faith and trust in His provision.
Tithing and giving are often misunderstood as Old Testament rules. In reality, giving is a faith principle that demonstrates trust in God (Malachi 3:10, Luke 6:38). When you give sacrificially, you are declaring: “God, I trust You to provide for me.”
Consider the story of a man who was a manufacturer of a major brand. He said, “Why does God want the tenth? I’ll give Him 90% and live on the tenth.” By giving sacrificially, he positioned himself for increase and breakthrough, showing the power of trusting God with your resources.
In today’s generation, teaching about giving is challenging. Many believers are wounded because of people who abused their trust in the church. Yet the principle remains: what you release in giving creates room for your blessing.
The Bible confirms this:
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38, NKJV).
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10, NKJV).
Ask yourself: What have I given today in expectation of a better tomorrow? What seed have I planted for the gift I want to manifest?
Giving is not about lack—it’s about positioning yourself for increase, favor, and supernatural provision. When you embrace this principle, God breaks limitations and unlocks the blessings He has stored for you.
