How to Use a Dreams Directory to Interpret Your Dreams
Many believers have dreams from God but lack the tools to interpret them correctly. That’s why we created the Dreams Directory—a practical, Spirit-led resource to help you understand your dreams from a biblical perspective.
Why a Dreams Directory?
A dreams directory is more than just a list of symbols. It’s a tool to guide you into the process of interpretation. Let’s take a common example: the color red.
Some mistakenly believe that red always symbolizes witchcraft. That’s why in some churches, people avoid wearing red altogether. But biblically, red is the color of blood, and blood represents life (Leviticus 17:11). It also reminds us of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. So red could symbolize life, sacrifice, or even atonement—depending on the context of the dream.
It’s Not Just Symbols—It’s Understanding
The Dreams Directory on our website doesn’t just give you meanings—it gives you biblical keys and principles to interpret dreams with wisdom and accuracy. For example:
Grass in dreams usually represents life. But is the grass green or withered? That detail changes the meaning.
Dogs can have multiple meanings. The interpretation depends on what was happening. Were you running from the dog? Were you feeding it? Every detail matters.
How to Use the Dreams Directory
Study Your Dream Carefully
Don’t rush. What is the main focus of the dream? What are the supporting elements?Identify the Focus
The focus is the main object, action, or subject in the dream.Identify the Sub-Focus
These are the supporting actions or surrounding elements that give clarity to the focus.Pay Attention to Emotions
Were you fearful? Peaceful? Excited? Emotions help interpret the message behind the symbols.Look at the Colors
Colors have layered meanings. A yellow snake, for example, could represent a bloodline battle—a generational issue tied to the Family.Use the Dreams Directory
Search for the symbol in our directory. Read all possible meanings and apply them according to the context of your dream.
Avoid Generalized Interpretations
One mistake people often make is generalizing symbols. For example, someone might say, “If you dream of being back in school, it means stagnation.” But that’s not always the case.
Ask yourself:
What was happening in the school?
Was there a teacher present? Who was it?
Were you learning or being tested?
A dream of being in class with a history teacher, while eating meat, could reveal that you're struggling with past, flesh-related issues—a cycle trying to repeat itself.
A dream involving a geography teacher would point to something completely different—perhaps direction, movement, or positioning.
Interpretation Requires Patience
One of the biggest challenges people face is a lack of patience. Interpretation is not always instant. Sometimes, you need to:
Meditate on the dream
Ask God for revelation
Revisit the dream in prayer
Even Daniel in the Bible asked for time to seek God for the meaning of a dream (Daniel 2:16–19). Likewise, you may need to sit with a dream for a few days, reading the Word, and using the directory alongside prayer.
Dream Interpretation Is a Spiritual Skill
Yes, dream interpretation is a skill—but it is a Spirit-dependent skill. We are not called to interpret dreams on our own. The Holy Spirit gives us insight, and resources like the Dreams Directory help guide that process.
Use the Dreams Directory Today
I created the Dreams Directory not just to interpret dreams for people, but to equip you to interpret your own dreams biblically and prayerfully.
